In the desolate highlands of East Iceland is the Ađalból Farm. Hrafnkell Freysgodi – the main character in Hrafnkell’s Saga – lived here, and is buried here. You can see the burial mound in the grounds. The current owner has set up a trail running for 10km past all the important sites in this saga. It is not a challenging hike, and he provides the information you need. This is a great way to see some of the inhospitable landscape, and also come across some old settlement sites. Accommodation is offered at the farm.
