The Adaldalur Valley is the low-lying area to the west of Husavik (where its airport is situated). It stretches from the Skjalfandafljot Bay inland, and is home to the Skjalfandafloi River. If you follow the valley inland on one of the various trails you will pass Lake Vestmannsvatn and reach areas of moorland. It is quite scenic here, and the lava-strewn floor adds a desolate feel. The remains of various craters can be seen around the valley.
