Arctic Henge

Just outside Raufarhofn, to the north, is the Arctic Henge. This is a recently built construction which is 54 metres across and has four gates. These represent the four seasons. The site was built to draw tourists, and also to tie in legends, mythology and the movements of the sun and seasons. It is also a great place to watch the midnight sun from, which is at its height in mid-June.
