Arnarnes is a headland in the north western fjords area of Iceland, around Isafjord Bay. It is at the southern end of Arnardalur Valley, and lies between Alftafjordur and Skutusfjord. It was here that Thormodur Bersason fell in love with girl and became known as the Kolbrun Poet in the Foster Brother Saga. Iceland’s first road tunnel can be found at Arnarnes. The headland is quite scenic here, with a backdrop of mountains and many local settlements.
