The Art Museum in Neskaupstadur is one of three museums housed in a building called ‘Museum House’. The building is an old warehouse which has been restored an split into three sections to contain the museums. The Art Museum of Tryggvi Ólafsson opened in 2007. Ólafsson is an artist from Neskaupstadur who was born in 1940 and is well known in Iceland. His work is displayed for the general public and includes paintings and other forms of artwork.
