This is one of the most notable churches in Iceland, built in an octagonal shape with a central tower. It was built in 1894, although a church has existed on the spot since shortly after Iceland turned to Christianity. Inside, there is seating for 70 people, and notable features include an altarpiece by Andreas Tastrup from 1875, and a bell dating to 1755. It is well worth venturing inside to see the many original ornaments. Services are still held here.
