Audunarstofa is a building in Holar which is used as the Bishop’s residence and office. It is an exact replica of the original Bishops’ residence which stood on the spot from the 14th century. It is built of Norwegian wood, and traditional techniques and tools were used during its construction. Inside the basement you will find an exhibition of 13th century books, chalices and other religious items. It may only be open during the summer months.
