Bíldudalur is a village on the Latrabjarg Peninsula of north western Iceland. It was founded in the 16th century as a fishing port – a role it retains today, with an important trade in shrimp. It is set in wonderful surroundings, with large mountains rising behind and some spectacular vistas on the approach roads. In the village are a number of guesthouses and places to eat, although there are no particular attractions of note other than the scenery and a small museum dedicated to Icelandic music of the 1940s to 60s.
