The Bjargtangar Lighthouse sits at the westernmost point of Europe, at the extreme tip of the Latrabjarg Peninsula in Iceland. It sits atop towering cliffs, full of nesting puffins and other birds, and looks out to the vast Atlantic Ocean stretching towards Greenland. The bird cliffs stretch for 12km and rise up to 400m above sea level. The busiest time for birds is August, and they often let you get very close. A coastal path runs from the lighthouse to the beach at Raudisandur.
