The mountain Bjólfur stands at 1,085 meters and lies to the north of the town of Seyðisfjörður. The mountain is called after the first person who came to live in Seyðisfjörður. Icelandic folklore tells of a pagan temple set up on the highest peak of the mountain. For those who don’t fancy the whole climb, a road takes visitors up the first 604 meters of the mountain, at which point the scenery is stunning.
