The sprawling Blanda Hydroelectric Power Station in Blonduos was built from 1984-1992. It was formed by a massive damming project on the river Blanda in two places, creating the lagoon you find here today. The surroundings are maintained and cultivated to keep the land green and blooming. The power station is open to the public between June and August, where you can see the inner workings and exhibitions on the site.
