Borg á Mýrum is commonly known as Iceland’s most famous farm. It can be found just to the north of Borgarnes off Route 54. It is not actually a farm today, but rather the site of a historic farm. There is a large rock here which gives the farm its name (Rock in the Marshes). Borg á Mýrum is one of the main locations in key Icelandic story Egil’s Saga. Also on the site is a wooden church and a sculpture by modernist Ásmundur Sveinsson. The site is free to enter.
