If you’re in the Borgarnes area and feel like a round of golf, the town has its own course just north of the centre of town, off Route 1. The club is known as Golfklúbbur Borgarnes. It is open to the public and non-members to have a game, and features a full 18 holes. The setting, with mountains and sea as a backdrop, is quite superb. The club is open year-round in good weather.
