Breidbólsstadir Church is located in Vesturhop in northern Iceland. This has been a religious site since at least the 12th century when Haflidi Masson – the man responsible for printing Icelandic law for the first time - lived here. The building here today was constructed in 1894 of timber, with a tower at one end. It is of a modest size, and still holds services. Visitors are permitted to come and look around when it is open.
