Breiđdalsvík is a windswept village set in a dramatic location in south western Iceland. It has mountains towering to 1,200m behind, and sweeping bays and gravel beds at its shore. The village was attacked by a German aircraft in 1942, but otherwise it has remained a peaceful location enjoyed by nature lovers and those touring the remoter parts of Iceland. There are a number of small guesthouses and shops here.
