Brunavik Cove is a beautiful remote bay in eastern Iceland. It is located just to the south of Borgafjordur, so is not hard to reach, although the road is rough in places. Brunavik is not inhabited any more, although the remains of two farms can be seen. These were abandoned in the 1940s. The cove has a lovely pebble beach, and picturesque headlands to either side. On a sunny day it is a perfect place for walking and enjoying the views out to sea.
