Budir Abandoned Village

Budir was once a thriving fishing village, but has now been abandoned. In recent years, however, a country hotel has set up home here. This is a wonderful place to stay when in the Snaefellsnes area. The beach here is fantastic, and views of mountains and sea abound. A hiking trail leads up to the Búđahraun lava field and Búđaklettur crater, which takes a few hours to cover.
