Byggđasafniđ Hvoll is a local history and folklore and art museum in the centre of Dalvik. The collections include exhibitions on the history of Dalvik, art and crafts made by locals, and a collection of tools and furnishings from around the town. There is also a natural history collection which includes many stuffed birds, a polar bear, eggs, plants and rocks. Iceland’s tallest man – Johan Petursson, who was a local – also has his own exhibition room. The museum is open throughout the year.
