Deildartunguhver is Europe’s largest hot spring. It can be found a little to the west of Reykholt, off Route 50 as it heads towards the coast. The spring can be seen from miles around as it blows steam up into the air from the constant bubbling of hot water rising to the surface. Deildartunguhver is used to provide hot water for the region, and to supply local agriculture. Walkways have been erected around the spring to allow you to get close.
