Djupavik is a town that was once a pioneering boom town, and had a thriving industry of processing herring. However, since the 1950s it has been somewhat of a ghost town when the huge factory closed. Today, very few visitors make it here, however it is worth stopping by. The factory remains as a ghostly reminder of the past, as do many empty houses. Also in the town is a beautiful waterfall which you can walk to. Behind the town is the huge rock face of the valley wall.
