Dvergasteinn, meaning Dwarfs’ Castle is the unusual name of a church located to the north of the town of Seyðisfjordur. The church is by the shore, on which there is a large special rock which also goes by the same name as the church. This rock looks like a castle for Dwarfs, and Icelandic mythology tells that the dwarfs living in the castle were lonely and decided to move their rock castle near to the church. Local people also say that a light can be seen from the Dwarf’s Castle late at night.
