Dyrhólaey is one of Iceland’s most poignant landscapes. These rock formations at the southern tip of the island form a huge sea arch in the middle of a flat plain. It is surrounded by beaches and a natural reserve which is home to many bird species. Various companies offer tours of the site, and it is even possible to got on top of the huge arch for amazing views. The site is usually closed during the bird nesting season to protect the habitat. Dyrhólaey is located to the west of Vík.
