Eidar is close to the town of Seyðisfjörður and is a formor manor house. It has since been used as a primary and secondary boarding school which has now been abolished. In the summer the buildings are used as a hotel because of the stunning natural surroundings. There are plans to make the Eidar buildings into a cultural centre. There is a swimming pool, sports field and open-air stage on the site which are used frequently in summer. There is also a lake which is used for trout fishing.
