Close to Eskifjörður is the Oddskarð ski range, named after the mountain Oddskarð, which is one of the highest mountains in Iceland. Despite the country’s name, the Icelandic ski season is relatively short and most areas open around January or February depending on the snow conditions each year. Oddskarð has three ski lifts and over 1800 meters of trails, making it an excellent area for downhill skiing. Refreshments are available at the resort to help relax after a successful ski session, and there is a ski lodge with sleeping bad accommodation for 40 people.
