Gallery 18 was founded by Edda Jónsdóttir in 1995. It is situated in the centre of Reykjavik and features work by emerging artists, both Icelandic and international. The artwork is contemporary in style and there are regular temporary exhibitions of paintings, sculptures, photography and other forms of modern art, along with the permanent collection. The gallery is open only on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday afternoons, and is closed throughout July. Admission is free.
