Gallery Kogga is a popular gallery in the centre of Reykjavik. Kogga items are ceramic eggs decorated with intricate and different patterns which can represent items or be completely abstract. Kogga pieces have become so popular that many Icelandic homes will contain one, and so they are a popular souvenir for those visiting the country. The eggs are thought to bring good luck. Kogga works mainly in ceramics, and creates both functional and sculpture pieces. The studio and gallery are located in the cellar of one of Reykjavik’s charming old buildings, near to Reykjavik art museum. Admission is free.
