Gardskagi is the northernmost point of the Reykjanes peninsula. It is a point of interest to bird watchers as it is a popular place for migrating birds to stop on their flight, and it also is an area which has plenty of local species of bird. There is a lighthouse which contains maps and information about the birds. Inside the lighthouse there is also a small exhibition on local history including information about ship-wreaks that have occurred in the area.
