Hafnir Aquarium is situated in the peaceful and beautiful village of Hafnir. The aquarium currently houses one of every common species of fish found in Icelandic waters. There are also numerous shell-fish, including crabs, mollusks and lobsters which are housed in tanks which aim to recreate their natural habitat. The Aquarium also contains a reconstruction of a bird cliff with examples of the rich variety of bird life who live on Iceland’s rugged cliffs on the Reykjanes coastline. The aquarium is open all year round.
