The Hekla Center was opened in 2007 to exhibit information and informative displays about Iceland’s most active volcano – Hekla. The centre is located at Leirubakki farm, near the volcano, and is a museum to previous eruptions and an all-round information centre of all things to do with the volcano. It has a wonderful viewpoint looking towards the summit, and also has food and drink facilities. There is an entrance fee.
