Heydalir is a church site inland from Breiddalsvik in eastern Iceland. The site dates back many years, involved with the Catholic church. Originally the church building here dated back to 1856, but was sadly destroyed by first a short time after it was added to the country’s conservation list. A new church was built on the site, and there is a monument here about the history of the location. It is easily reached by road, and has pleasant surroundings.
