Háifoss is the second highest waterfall in Iceland. It falls 122 metres into a pool. It is quite remote, and accessed via driving or walking along a 4WD track from Stöng. The waterfall was only named in the 19th century by naturalist Dr. Helgi Petursson. Whilst visiting, it is also worth stopping by the smaller Granni waterfall nearby in the same gorge. The best view of Háifoss is from the plateau above if you can find your way up there!
