Holmatungur is probably the most peaceful part of the Jokulsargljufur National Park in northern Iceland. Here, you will find springs flowing gently, and babbling into rivers that join the canyon. There are a number of small waterfalls, also. The hiking and walking trails here are excellent, taking in the best views and scenery, and run along many of the smaller rivers. Walking to Katlar will enable you to see the Urridafoss waterfall.
