Hornvik Cove is situated at the very top of Iceland, on the northern part of the westfjords peninsula. It is a remote place which is uninhabited today, although you’ll find the remains of three farms in the valley behind the cove. Two headlands jut out into the sea around Hornvik – these are Hornbjarg and Haelavikubjarg. Both have high cliffs and thousands of nesting birds. The area is very scenic, and a perfect wilderness retreat for hikers with many trails.
