Hrutafjordur Church

One of the most notable buildings in the small village of Hrutafjordur in north west Iceland is its church. This was built in 1884 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It is a timber church, with a tower above the entrance containing the bell. Inside it features a choir balcony and seating for many guests. It is still in regular use.
