The Hunting Museum is one of Stokkseyri’s main attractions. It is recommended if you are in this part of southern Iceland. The museum is the only one of its kind in Iceland, having opened in 2004. It presents a full overview of hunting animals, both in Iceland and abroad. It is considered an authority on this, covering both ethical topics surrounding hunting, and also the history and process of hunting, and the weaponry used. There are various displays, exhibits and hands-on workshops for visitors. The museum is open most of the year.
