Hvitserkur is an iconic sea stack just off the coast in Huna Bay, to the north of Pingeyrar in northern Iceland. The rock has been carved by the sea to include three holes at its base, giving it the appearance of a petrified monster. It is not possible to get on to the rock due to its sheer sides, but you can observe it from the pebble beach on the shore, where special steps have been constructed. A large number of seabirds can be seen on the rock at times. The base of Hvitserkur has been reinforced with concrete to try and preserve it a while longer.
