Safnasafnið - The Icelandic Folk Art Museum - is built on a hill overlooking Eyjafjörður and the town of Akureyri in North Iceland. The museum contains a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, drawings, embroideries, books, dolls, toys and tools which give an excellent insight into folk art and lifestyle. The museum has a good blend of native and historical art and modern folk artwork. Outside the museum owns beautiful grounds and old fashioned gardens to explore, and inside there is also a library with books on art, architectures, outside art and other related topics.
