The Icelandic Seal Centre is Hvammstangi’s principal attraction. Since seals are a part of life in waters around Iceland’s northern coast, it is fitting to have a place to learn about the creatures and their habitat here. You can also learn about the seal products produced in Iceland over the years, and about efforts to look after seal populations today. The centre also includes a tourist information office. It is open in July and August only, and has an entrance fee.
