The Jokulsargljufur National Park can be found in northern Iceland, to the east of the town of Husavik. It is a popular day trip attraction. The park covers a gorge with the river Jokulsa a Fjollum, which runs for 30km. It is Iceland’s second longest river. This park is particularly popular because of its hiking trails, which are a little more demanding than other nearby areas. The gorge is full of caves, rock formations and cliffs. Also in the park you’ll find some other valleys, canyons and waterfalls. This is one of Iceland’s best national parks. There is a visitor centre at Asbyrgi, open from June to September.
