Kalfatjorn used to be a church, parsonage and farm set in the Vatnsleysa county. In 1907 however the parish was united with another parish in the Kjalarney deanery. The church is Catholic and is dedicated to St Peter. It was built in 1893 and originally was built in wood and covered in corrugated iron. Inside, the church can hold 150 people and is now part of the Tjorn parish. The altarpiece is a replica of the one in Reykjavik Cathedral and is as old as the church.
