Kerlingafjoll is a mountain massif, known in English as the Ogress Mountains, deep in Iceland’s Interior. It can be found near Hveravellir. The mountains rise above the flat surroundings, reaching 1500m. They are surrounded by glaciers and usually covered in snow. For many years a ski school has operated here, although due to retreating snow and ice, this has now closed. The buildings used for this are now used as accommodation for travellers. A bus service travels here during the summer.
