Further round the coast on the opposite side of the bay to Arnes is the small village of Krossnes. It features one of Iceland’s most dramatic and scenic swimming pools (and there are literally hundreds). The open air pool here is geothermally heated, but its location on a black pebble beach is superb. All around are dramatic sea stacks and cliffs, and the sometimes wild sea lashing at the shore. The pool is open to the public for a small admission fee.
