Lake Ulfljotsvatn is in southern Iceland, between Reykjavik and Selfoss. It is a lovely, scenic lake which stretches for around eight kilometres, and is just over a kilometre wide. It is abundant with Char and Brown Trout, and has a large bird population. Alongside the lake is a lovely building with a red roof. Lake Ulfljotsvatn was named after Iceland’s first President, Ulfljotur. It has many legends associated with it, and has turned up some interesting artefacts during excavations. Today it is owned by the water company, but still accessible to the public.
