Landskirkja is the main church on the island of Heimaey in the Westmann Islands. It is situated in the centre of the town and features large wooden doors. On these you’ll see carved scenes from the history of the Westmann Islands (Vestmannaeyjar). The church is situated just in front of where the lava flow from the 1973 eruption stopped. Visitors are welcome to look around the church, or to attend a service. The church is Lutheran.
