Laugar’s main attraction is its small folk museum, which can be found in the town’s school. Here you can learn about the history of the town and the region, which is famous for the Saga stories. Guđrun Ósvífursdóttir, who featured in the Lasdaela Saga, was born in Laugar, so there is some information on her story. The museum is open in the summer months and has a small admission fee to enter.
