Ölfusdalur Valley

Ölfusdalur Valley is just outside Hveragerđi, and is extremely active with its various geysers and mudpots scattered around the place. The most notable geyser here is Grıla which erupts a few times each day, with a spurt reaching 12 metres in height. A road runs through the valley, and there’s a car park to allow you to wander at will. The Leppalúđi borehole, which erupts continually, is actually artificial.
