Loðmundarfjörður is the name next fjord to the town of Seyðisfjörður. Today it is mainly uninhabited, but it is still a popular place to visit because it is off the beaten track and had beautiful scenery. Due to its location the area is relaxing and tranquil and makes for an excellent day out. To get to Loðmundarfjörður there is a footpath from Seyðisfjörður across the mountains. This is a 12 km walk, and takes approximately 6 hours but the ending is well worth the effort.
