Logmannshlid is a mountain to the west of Akureyri. Its peak is 1,451 metres above sea level, and is usually covered in snow throughout the year. Hiking trails and a road head from the town to the summit. At the top visitors will find a small historic wooden church, which is preserved and contains a number of artefacts dating back to the 16th century. This is usually only open in the summer. If it is unlocked, visitors can enter.
