The Maritime and Machine Shop Museum of Josafat Hinriksson in Neskaupstadur is one of three museums housed in a building called ‘Museum House’. The building is an old warehouse which has been restored an split into three sections to contain the museums. Jósafat Hinriksson was a ship builder in Reykjavik who opened a museum containing articles of maritime and handicraft nature. In the year 2000 the museum was moved from Reykjavik to its present location in Neskaupstadur, Hinriksson’s home town. The museum is open from June to August.
