Sjómannagarđur is the maritime museum in Hellissandur-Rif. It is one of the only attractions in the town, other than the natural beauty all around. The museum uncovers some of the history and heritage of sea trade and navigation in relation to the town and its trading past. There are old photographs, equipment from ships and fishing vessels, and knowledgeable staff. The museum has a small admission fee, and is only usually open in the main summer months.
